Voiloid Terms of Use

Effective: October 12, 2026

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If there is any difference between this version and the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using "Voiloid", a text-to-speech bot for Discord provided by Sutaten (the "Operator"), its settings screen (the web console, voiloid.rebuiler.dev) and related features (together, the "Service"). You are deemed to have agreed to these Terms when you add the bot to a Discord server or log in to the web console.

Article 1 (Definitions)

In these Terms, the following words have these meanings:

  • "User": anyone who uses the Service, including people who use text-to-speech on a server where the bot has been added, people who log in to the web console, and people who run a self-hosted worker
  • "Server administrator": a user who has permission to manage a Discord server where the bot has been added
  • "Self-hosted worker": a program that a user runs on their own device, connects to the Service and uses to generate audio

Article 2 (Relationship with Discord's terms)

The Service runs on Discord. In addition to these Terms, users must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Article 3 (What the Service does)

The Service reads messages written in Discord text channels aloud in voice channels. It also provides features such as text-to-speech settings, a reading dictionary, per-user voices (My voice), self-hosted workers and sub bots.

The Service is basically provided free of charge. As it is currently in beta, its features, screens and usage limits may change without notice, and bugs or loss of saved settings may occur.

Article 4 (Voices and voice libraries)

Text-to-speech audio is generated using speech synthesis software such as VOICEVOX, AivisSpeech and COEIROINK, and their voices (voice libraries and characters). Users must follow the terms of use and guidelines set for each voice they use.

If you record the audio and publish it in streams, videos or elsewhere, you are responsible for giving any credit that each voice library requires. Do not use voices in a way that damages the reputation or credibility of the characters or their rights holders.

Article 5 (Responsibilities of server administrators)

Server administrators add the bot at their own discretion and manage its text-to-speech settings and dictionary. Where appropriate, let your server members know that their messages may be read aloud.

Article 6 (Self-hosted workers)

Self-hosted workers are run by users on their own devices and networks. Users are responsible for the cost of running them, device and network failures, and the settings of the speech synthesis software.

Keep your self-hosted worker token secret. If it is leaked, reissue it immediately. The Operator may disconnect or remove a self-hosted worker when necessary to protect the Service.

Article 7 (Prohibited conduct)

When using the Service, you must not:

  • Violate laws or public order and morals
  • Use text-to-speech or the dictionary to spread content that infringes others' rights, or that is defamatory or discriminatory
  • Place an excessive load on the Service, such as with large numbers of messages or repeated actions
  • Access the Service or other users' accounts without authorization, or attempt to do so
  • Misuse self-hosted worker tokens, or interfere with the Service through a self-hosted worker
  • Impersonate the Operator or others
  • Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
  • Do anything else the Operator considers inappropriate

Article 8 (Suspension of use)

If a user violates these Terms, or is likely to, the Operator may take necessary action without prior notice, such as stopping text-to-speech on a server, suspending the user's login or use, or disconnecting self-hosted workers.

Article 9 (Changes, suspension and termination of the Service)

The Operator may change the Service, or suspend or end it, without prior notice. The Service may be unavailable due to changes in Discord or speech synthesis software, equipment maintenance, outages and so on.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy of text-to-speech (including misreadings), the quality of the audio, or that the Service will be available without interruption.

The Operator is not liable for any damage users suffer from using, or being unable to use, the Service, except in cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of the Operator. Problems between users, or between users and third parties, are to be resolved between the parties involved.

Article 11 (User information)

User information in the Service is handled in accordance with the privacy policy separately set by the Operator.

Article 12 (Changes to these Terms)

The Operator may change these Terms when necessary. The changed Terms take effect when they are posted on this page. By using the Service after a change, you are deemed to have agreed to it.

Article 13 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan as the court of first instance.
